Autonomous Ship Seminar

Norway has a leading position within autonomous ship technology. On Monday the 15th of May a successful seminar was held at JJUC-companies office in Vikkilen, Grimstad.

 Around 55 participants were present. Among the speakers were Kongsberg Maritime, DNV-GL, Cavotec Group, Wärtsillë Ships Design, Telenor Maritime, Gard AS, Norwegian Maritime Authorities. The seminar gave a fascinating insight into a possible direction for global shipping. The short sea shipping segment is likely to have some milestones coming up in the in the very near future. The project Yara Birkeland was presented and if launched it will mean a quantum leap in the region of Telemark.

The seminar was arranged by Maritimt Forum South, Sørlandets Shipowners Association, GCE NODE and Norwegian Forum for Autonomous Ships (NFAS).
